A boil water advisory issued by the Municipality of North Cowichan was rescinded as of 11 a.m., Aug. 22.
“The water is now safe to drink and to use for all purposes,” states the rescinding order.
The notice goes on to explain that the boil water order was imposed as a precautionary measure “due to turbidity levels that were slightly elevated following the recent switch from Chemainus wells to the Banon Creek surface water source.
“Turbidity levels in the Banon Creek supply have now returned to normal levels and Island Health confirms that this precautionary measure is no longer necessary,” the notice says.
