Ladysmith Big Bike participants kicked off the Island tour and helped raise $8,764 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, according to fundraising figures released this week.
Local riders used their pedal power to travel the two kilometre distance around downtown on May 23.
The 49er Riders raised $2,929 and showed up with a ton of spirit and great energy.
Royal Bank Royals collected $2,450 had an impressive fundraising year and a lot of fun on the bike.
Curvalicious celebrated their 14th year on the Big Bike and raised $2,620. Through the years they have raised over $43,000 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
PJ and Di’s BB Blasters rounded out the list of teams with $765. A special thank you was sent to PJ from organizers for volunteering her time onsite all day.
