Town of Ladysmith civic workers Travis Cnossen and Sonny Bryski were recently busy installing a new high capacity garbage receptacles in the downtown area of Ladysmith. Council decided at it’s May 16 meeting to go ahead with a project to replace conventional receptacles with 13 of the high capacity units, which will cut the need for garbage collection from several times per week to once every six to eight weeks, and will discourage people from depositing household garbage into the town’s street receptacles. There were some concerns on council over the look of the new receptacles, even though they are more efficient. See coverage in the May 25 issue of the Chronicle.
