Cedar woman, 25, killed in crash Thursday night

A 25-year-old Cedar woman was killed on Thursday night in a single-vehicle car crash and Nanaimo RCMP are now looking to speak with anyone who may have seen her in the hours leading up to the incident.

A 25-year-old Cedar woman was killed on Thursday night in a single-vehicle car crash and Nanaimo RCMP are now looking to speak with anyone who may have seen her in the hours leading up to the incident.

Nanaimo RCMP said the vehicle was travelling north on Cedar Road when it went off the road near Bennie Road and struck a telephone pole.

Nanaimo RCMP Traffic Services, a collision re-constructionist, as well as the BC Coroner’s Service are investigating the collision.

North Oyster Fire Department also responded to the scene last night.

The woman was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The intersection was closed for approximately three hours while police investigated.

Nanaimo RCMP victim services provided assistance to family members. The name of the victim has not been released.
