The driver of a pickup truck was not injured after a vehicle ended up in a ditch north of town on Friday afternoon.

Ladysmith RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision call on the side of the Trans-Canada Highway shortly after 4 p.m.

The incident occurred just before the turn off into the A&W and the Husky gas station located near the intersection of the highway and Oyster Sto’lo Road.

RCMP said the lone occupant was travelling northbound on the highway when his right front tire blew resulting in the vehicle going off the road and into the ditch.

“Luckily, the vehicle remained upright throughout and there was no apparent injuries to the driver,” said Staff-Sgt Ken Brissard.

No charges are expected to be laid against the driver.
