Ladysmith RCMP have charged a motorcyclist after he allegedly collided into the back of a car and was ejected on Dogwood Drive Thursday morning.

The accident occurred in the southbound lane shortly after 10 a.m. near the Holland Creek Development.

Police said the motorcycle operator popped a wheelie for several hundred feet as he approached a traffic stop set up by construction crews at the top of the dip.

He allegedly didn’t see a white Chevrolet vehicle that was stopped and slammed into the rear bumper on the driver’s side, according to RCMP.

Paramedics assessed the motorcyclist on scene for minor injuries.

He is now facing a charge of Following Too Closely.

Both the vehicle and the motorcycle were towed from the scene.
