Children from Ladysmith and Stz’uminus First Nation schools as well as local programs got behind the wheel of the Town of Ladysmith’s largest vehicles on Thursday as part of Public Works Day.

The event was held as part of National Public Works Week which has been ongoing since the 1960s.

Children were able to learn first-hand from town staff and climb aboard the fire truck, trolley, dump truck and other heavy machinery.
