Woman injured in Wednesday morning crash

An 85-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital with undetermined injuries after a two-vehicle crash near Nanaimo Airport.

An 85-year-old woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Nanaimo Airport Wednesday, Oct. 2 at about 6:55 a.m.

The female was transported by air ambulance to Victoria with undetermined injuries, according to a press release from the Ladysmith RCMP.

The northbound traffic was impacted by this crash; however, the Trans-Canada Highway was fully reopened to traffic shortly after 10 a.m.

Ladysmith RCMP is investigating the crash with the assistance of an RCMP Traffic Analyst/Reconstructionist. Any witnesses to this crash who have not already spoken to police are asked to contact the Ladysmith RCMP at 250-245-2215.
