McALONEY – Charles William “CW”
Passed away on January 23rd, 2011 in the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Age 70 years. Born in Hamilton, Ontario on September 12th, 1940.
Survived by his loving wife Deanna of twenty eight years, and sister-in-law Susan Walters of Coquitlam, BC. “CW” was an entertainer, playing guitar, harmonica, and singing bluegrass, old western, all around Vancouver Island, particularly in Nanaimo, and Duncan with his good friend, Frank Graham on bass guitar.
“CW” had a variety of vocations over the years; he was a bull rider in the BC and Alberta circuit in the 1970’s, an octopus diver, commercial fisherman, and long haul truck driver.
He was a loving and caring person with a big heart and also sometimes a “Rascal”. His memory will be cherished by all those lives he touched.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
