Esther Edith Forster
(nee Addison)
Esther Forster of Chemainus, BC, passed away peacefully at Chemainus Health Centre on Jan 23/11 at 12:30 a.m., with family by her side. Esther had recently been a resident of Dove Hill House in Chemainus.
Esther was born in Burnaby, Nov. 11/24 and lived in the Vancouver/Burnaby areas until 1959 when she moved to Quesnel, BC. More recently, in 2000 she moved to Chemainus to join her life partner John Travers. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Chemainus United Church with coffee/tea served after. It will be held April 16, 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoon (This is a change to the original time).
Esther is survived by her 4 children – Ginnie Webb of Quesnel, Sharon Belik (Art Soles) of Chemainus, Shirley (Martin) Ritchie of Quesnel and Joe (Debbie) Forster of Port Alberni; 5 grandchildren – Cindy (George) Paul and Ron (Kathy) Dunn of Quesnel, Cathy (Fred) Hetu of Clinton, Janice (Sandy) McCullough of Kelowna and Joanne (Paul) Gislasen of Aldergrove and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon, of 49 years, her loving retirement partner, John Travers of Chemainus, and her great-grandson, Christopher Hetu.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Esther’s memory to the United Church in Chemainus. Thanks so much to Dr. Manhas and to the staff on the 3rd Floor at Duncan Hospital for their kindness.
