Evelyn passed away quietly at the age of 76 years on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Sergie in 2002. She is survived by daughter Kim (Don), granddaughter Courtney (Chad) and their children Taylor and Samantha, son Daryl (Sandi), grandson Glenn (Nikki). Evelyn was involved with the local figure skating club in its early days, the Chemainus Fire Department, and the Rod and Gun Club for many years. As well, she volunteered at the Harvest House and Steeples Assisted Living for a few years. Girl Guiding was a part of her life throughout the years, being a Brownie and Guide leader and thoroughly enjoying the time she spent with the Trefoil Guild/ Girl Guides, travelling and camping. Mom had an infectious smile and a “can do” attitude that allowed her to connect with so many individuals, young and old, throughout her life. Evelyn (Baba) enjoyed the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her many family and friends, leaving happy and entertaining memories for all. A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 2:00 pm at the Chemainus Senior’s Center at 9824 Willow St. Please bring your memories and stories to share.
