Jennifer Ann Soer (Nee Trace)

Feb 5, 1948 - Sep 19, 2016

It is with sadness that we share the news of our beloved mother’s passing.  She passed peacefully with grace and dignity in her home surrounded by family, loved ones, and beauty.

Jen was a passionate optimist and exuded happiness and positivity to everyone she met. Jen appreciated Mother Nature’s beauty and cherished her Cedar country homestead of 35 years.  She loved her gardens, apple orchard, grape vines and creek.  She was a fantastic cook and baker and was well-known for her scrumptiously delicious peach pie. Jen was an avid reader and for many years enjoyed discussing books with her reader’s group friends.

Her pride and joy were undoubtedly her two children, Camille and Benjamin, with whom she enjoyed close friendships and amazing travel adventures. Mom always loved a road trip, big or small and some of her favorite travel destinations included Tofino, Santa Fe and the midwest, New York City, Italy, Turkey, and Maui.

Jen will be greatly missed as she had an amazing ability to connect and touch each person she met in a special heartfelt way.  Her favorite saying in recent years was LIG! (Life is Good!) and she lived it and shared that phrase with all she knew. She strived to help and enhance the lives of those around her and was an inspiration to all who knew her.  Jen was a strong warrior woman who embraced the cosmos, the good vibes, and the good people who graced her life.

Jen is survived by her daughter Camille Soer, son Benjamin Soer (Leah and new baby on the way), ‘adopted’ daughter Davalena (Paul), ‘adopted’ son Jim (Tianyi), brother Richdale Trace, sister Barbara Conard, her very special niece Danielle Coleman (Jeff), and many other beloved family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her Cedar country homestead on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at 13791 Cedar Road, Ladysmith. It is open house style, please come anytime between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. As mom always signed off…. AFOL! (Arms full of love!)
