WALTON, Richard B.

1943 - 2011

The Walton family with heavy hearts announce the passing of Richard on January 1, 2011 after a short bout with cancer.

Richard was born in Little Shemogue, NB moving west to BC in 1965 and making his home in Ladysmith in 1978.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Eileen and Ora. He is survived by his wife Linda, of forty eight years; his children Shelly (Ken), Richard Jr., and Melody (Dan); four sisters, Shirley (Paul), Pauline (Stewart), Judy (Grayden), and Nancy (Bob). Also to mourn, six adored grandchildren, Megan, Kurt, Isabella, Sophia, Kaileigh, and Brodie, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Richard along with his partner Ernie operated Rem Construction Ltd. for forty some years, making a lot of life long friends along the way. They believed a job worth doing was worth doing well.

Richard was a member of Mount Brenton and loved playing golf, fishing up Island, travelling down south with our friends, Saturday night group dinners and country dancing.

Richard will be greatly missed by all who got to know and love him, especially his “special mum” Isabelle.

As per his wishes, no service will be held.

Donations may be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
