OBITUARY for

Roy (Lindy) Lindenhoff

Roy (Lindy) Lindenhoff of Nanaimo died Friday, December 30th, 2016 just 12 days after his 88th birthday.

Roy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was raised in Watcomb and Sioux Lookout in Ontario. He was schooled by correspondence with a train car being brought in once a month to act as a school house. He often said that living through the Great Depression was one of his best teachers.

He loved the outdoors and especially fishing. He was also a talented musician and loved playing his many musical instruments. He was a journeyman electrician by trade which eventually led him to the life he loved on Vancouver Island. He had a wonderful talent for solving problems in his own unique way. In his retirement he spent many hours painting the local landscapes as well as carving wildlife from wood.

Roy is survived by his loving wife Elaine Wilgosh and sons Charles (Terra), Peter (Ana), as well as beloved grandchildren Paige (David) Bryce, Desiree Gregoire, Pierce Lindenhoff, Claire Lindenhoff, Allie Lindenhoff, and Sara Lindenhoff as well as nieces and nephew. He is also survived by his step daughter Sally (Roger) Gregoire, Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Ruby, as well as his much-loved sister Elsie.

A celebration of the life of Roy will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at 1:30pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo.

Roy was a very gentle soul who made friends easily

and as well as being a loving brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather.

He will be missed by all.
