Members of the Catholic Women’s League from across Vancouver Island will gather in Duncan this May for the 97th annual Victoria Diocesan Convention.
Hosted jointly by the St. Edward’s council in Duncan and the St. Mary’s council in Ladysmith, the two-day convention will take place May 2 and 3 at St. Edward’s Church, 2085 Maple Bay Rd. Organizers expect more than 90 attendees to take part in the gathering which will blend community, faith and celebration.
The event also marks two significant milestones for the local councils. The St. Edward’s league is celebrating its 80th year, while St. Mary’s marks its 90th.
The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is a national organization committed to faith, service and social justice. Its motto, “For God and Canada,” reflects the group’s mission to foster spiritual growth and community engagement among Catholic women across the country.
In addition to workshops and meetings, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the region and connect with fellow members from across the Island.
