An increase of copper wire thefts are worrying North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.
Thieves are stealing streetlight wire, underground and irrigation wire and other various lighting and antenna wire.
Police are concerned because in the process of stealing the wire, thieves are also leaving live wire exposed.
The rise of copper prices could be one of the contributing factors, police believe.
Police are asking for the public to keep an eye out for this type of activity.
