‘Kid’s Life’ concert to benefit Japan

The children of St. Joseph’s School in Chemainus want to support their brothers and sisters in Japan.

“We had already planned the spring musical for arts and culture week,” explained principal Gwen Jahelka. “And with everything that happened, the children wanted to give something back.”

“A Kid’s Life” is now a benefit concert with proceeds going to the Canadian Development and Peace Organization to assist in the rebuilding of Japan after last month’s devastating earthquake and tsunami.

The whole school is involved in the concert featuring music, singing and acting.

“The kids are very excited.”

The event will be a dessert theatre where people can enjoy the show and donate what they wish.

The event is Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Chemainus.
