Ladysmith life coach wins international award two years in a row

Bestka K-Burr has been named among the Top 100 Management Consultants in the World

Ladysmith based life coach, Betska K-Burr has been named one of the ‘Top 100 Managment Consultants in the World 2020’ for the second year in a row by CEO Today Magazine.

“Ms. K-Burr’s brilliant research is a first in the world in terms of permanent positive change. It is this initiative, ambition, skill and expertise to drive her practice and business forward and for that, we felt that Ms. K-Burr deserved to be recognized as one of the top Management Consultants in the World through our CEO Today Awards,” the CEO Today judging panel said.

K-Burr, and her husband John Burr are the co-presidents of Coaching and Leadership International, (CLI), a company that trains professionals, everyday people, and other life coaches. CLI’s coaching methods are all based on K-Burr’s science of Mind Kinetics.

CLI has trained over 700 life and executive coaches, and has had thousands of participants in over 50 countries. When K-Burr was named among the Top 100 management consultants in 2019, she said she was humbled by the experience.

“It’s less about me, and more about the work. The work is fairly new – we started developing it in 1997… I’m thrilled that the work, and the science is being recognized,” she said.

When K-Burr was named again in 2020, she was shocked.

“The fact that I – a woman from Ladymith – would be recognized for the second time was amazing.”

K-Burr is fondly known as the ‘Guru Coach’, a name given to her by CLI coaches in India. K-Burr hopes that one day, one of CLI’s certified power coaches will be named among the Top 100 as well.

“We’ve got coaches in so many countries. They can do the work now, I don’t need to be there,” she said. “During one of our classes the other day I opened the training session by saying any one of them could be the Guru Coach. In fact, I’m expecting it.”
