Ladysmith residents celebrate their town over B.C. Day weekend

Ladysmith Days took place at Transfer Beach Park and a few other locations Aug 4-6

Ladysmith Days celebrations, held over the B.C. Day long weekend, included three days of family-friendly activities, live music, local food, and more.

From Friday to Sunday, Aug. 4-6, Ladysmith residents participated in celebration activities across town, from zucchini races at Coronation Mall, to a bullhead derby at the Ladysmith Community Marina, to a soapbox derby downtown, to pro wrestling, concerts and fireworks at Transfer Beach.

Also during Ladysmith Days, the town’s Citizen of the Year was announced, with Kathy Holmes, past-president of the Arts Council of Ladysmith and District, receiving the honour. Look for more in the next print issue of the Ladysmith Chronicle.
