This coming Saturday, June 11, the Interact Club from Ladysmith Secondary School is putting on a car wash in order to raise funds for those affected by the war in Ukraine.
The car wash, which will be by donation, will take place at Melody Hall, 205 Bayview Ave. in Ladysmith, directly across the street from the New Bayview Brewing Company, from noon to 3 p.m.
The funds raised from this initiative will be going directly to the Canadian Red Cross, specifically their “Ukraine Humanitarian Support In Canada Appeal.” The funds sent to the Red Cross will help individuals as well as Ukrainian families transition into their life in Canada by providing essential items such as food and water. Hospital support and other primary health services will be provided.
Club members have collected and donated necessary supplies, and the space for the car wash is being generously donated by Sasha and Michael Sumpter. The club will have refreshments available, which will also be by donation. Come by to have your car cleaned, have some refreshments, and donate to an important and worthy cause.
