• June 11 (Cancellation), Alf Carter Show. The Kinsmen have announced that the Alf Carter show scheduled for June 11 had to be cancelled due to a scheduling conflict and slow ticket sales. Anybody who bought tickets can return them to the point of purchase for a refund. “It is hoped that the Kinsmen can reschedule the show for the fall,” the notice states, and thanks everyone for their support.
• June 12, The Hungarian Cello, Brian Yoon, noon at St. Michale’s Church in Chemainus. Described by the CBC as “Canada’s next cello superstar,” Victoria principal cellist Brian Yoon is well positioned to deliver an unforgettable performance. His program will include a Bach solo suite, several short works with a Hungarian flavour, and, as its cornerstone, the virtuoso masterpiece, Sonata for Cello by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály.
