Leadership is as important as ever in uncertain times and so a local non-profit organization wants to keep helping people find their voices.

Leadership Vancouver Island is about to start its 2020-21 session and has space for a few more folks wanting to learn and develop skills.

LVI, according to a press release, “aims to inspire and build capacity for outstanding leadership, learning and service.” Participants receive various forms of instruction over a series of talks and workshops focused on topics such as self-awareness, project management, communication, public speaking, teamwork, change management, inclusion and diversity, and more. This year, LVI will move to a hybrid program utilizing online tools and some in-person interaction.

“It was important to our organization to continue to offer leadership development for the mid-Island community during a critical time for leadership in our society,” said Russ Burke, LVI board president, in the release. “We’re happy we’re able to form a plan for physically distanced and online learning, while continuing to offer a robust learning opportunity for motivated individuals.”

Participants will receive more than 150 hours of instruction between September and June. Orientation is Sept. 12, so those interested are asked to apply right away or get in touch with LVI as soon as possible to learn more.
