Lion's silent auction set

The Ladysmith Lions are hoping to raise money for the many programs they support.

“We care about raising the money, that’s what we care about,” said Sid Roemer, a Lions member and project chairperson.

The Lions are holding a silent auction to raise money for Camp Shawnigan, Easter Seal House, and to help people with medical expenses.

“We’re not getting as much from gaming grants anymore,” Roemer explained. “The donations will go to a lot of things in the community.”

He said auctions are a great way for people to have some fun while supporting needy causes.

“It’s hard to keep up with demands,” he said.

Roemer said he’d like to see the silent auction become a yearly event.

Along with the silent auction there will be live entertainment and chili and hotdogs.

Anyone interested in donating items for the silent auction can do so until April 27.

Ladysmith Lions silent auction is Saturday, May 7 at Aggie Hall from 1 to 5 p.m.
