The Art Council of Ladysmith and District’s annual Arts on the Avenue event is back this year for one day only on August 22.

The outdoor art market will take place from 10 am to 4 pm and feature live music and art. This year’s event is scaled down from the usual Arts on the Avenue, which takes up most of Ladysmith’s 1st Avenue. Arts on the Avenue 2021 will be held on 1st Avenue between Roberts Street and Gatacre Street. Roughly 25 artists will have work on display for the day.

“We’ve got glass artists, potters, paintings, fabric — everything there would normally be, just on a smaller scale,” ACLD president Kathy Holmes said.

Arts on the Avenue coincides with the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association’s annual sidewalk sale. Folks will have the opportunity to visit local businesses throughout the day as well.

“It’s going to be a fun day,” Holmes said.
