Terry Fox run initial figures tallied

Supporters can still make online donations to the 35th Annual cancer fundraiser

It’s not too late to support Terry Fox’s drive to find a cure and alleviate the effects of cancer.

Initial results of the 35th Annual Terry Fox Run are in, reported organizer Anita McLeod, the Town of Ladysmith’s community services coordinator.

The 2015 trot, cycle and walk:

• drew 62 official entrants, as well as about a dozen people who joined without registering;

• was helped along by 20 volunteers;

• brought in $1,416 in donations;

• will continue to see donations coming in from schools that may double that amount.

“Thanks so much to everyone who came out,” McLeod said.

She wanted to pass on a reminder to those who weren’t about to join in the event, that donations can still be made for Ladysmith - Site #117 online at www.terryfox.org.

McLeod also wanted to pass on her thanks to run sponsors: the 49th Parallel Grocery and McDonalds for providing muffins and drinks at the event.
