Saltair photographer Doug Bell’s striking image of the Milky Way over Ladysmith is ‘an excellent example of long exposure photography that anyone can do with very little effort.’

The 30-second exposure, taken last September from the park at Elliot’s Beach, across the harbor from Ladysmith, earned the Ladysmith Camera Club’s top honour for February’s theme of the Month: “Long Exposure”.

The Camera Club’s next meeting will be April 26, 7 p.m. Veteran Nanoose Bay photographer Kevin McGuinness will talk about “Colour—when to use, choose or lose it”.

Meetings are held in Hardwick Hall, High Street at Third Avenue. Everyone welcome. Non-members $5 drop-in fee.
