Harpist playing in Chemainus

Renowned pedal harpist, Josh Layne, will perform a solo concert featuring a wide-ranging mix of composers, including Bach, Beethoven and Layne himself. The concert is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, in the intimate setting of 1891 heritage St. Michael’s Church, Chemainus.You can stay for a delicious reception afterwards and meet the artist. His recent tour of a solo harp program called Harping Through History won rave reviews, including at his debut performance in Europe at Bad Reichenhall, Germany.  Comments included “world class”, and “may be the next Alberto Salvi.”Layne’s compositions were chosen to be performed at the Sonic Boom Festival of New Music in Vancouver, Passage 2006 and Rhapsody 2008.
