The cast and crew at Ladysmith Little Theatre are busily preparing for A Visit from the President.

That latest offering from Yellow Point’s Brain March is set to hit the stage April 28.

The play, about a small radio station preparing a radio play which will include a visit from the U.S. president, is at a crucial stage, said March.

“We’re pretty much on course here and having a good time doing it.”

March was expecting the technical parts of the production to be incorporated into rehearsal last weekend.

Then it will be a matter of running through the play several times before opening night.

The actors, he said, are working at staying in character throughout and the set he said is unfolding quickly.

“It will be interesting to convert it to a 1940s radio station,” said March.

“It’s the type of set that the whole set will definitely be used.”

“We’re happy with what we have.”

The excitement is building, said March, as those involved are excited about putting the pieces together, but everyone is aware there is still work to be done.

“We can’t wait for opening night.”
