• April 1 & 2, Ladysmith Home & Business Show, Aggie Hall, 1110 First Avenue. Take this opportunity to support your local businesses and see the variety of shops and services Ladysmith has to offer. Admission is free. There will be a concession, outdoor displays, lots for the family to see and do, and demos. • April 3, Secret Beaches art exhibit at Kiwi Cove Lodge, 1 to 4 p.m. Meet artist Theo Dombrowski, who is putting on the exhibit as a fund raiser for Doctors Without Borders for relief work in Syria. Paintings in this exhibition include works originally used as illustrations in Dombrowski’s guides to Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Show is on until April 24.

• April 3, Jazz at Crofton Series, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Crofton Hotel Pub, 1534 Joan Ave. Nanaimo keyboardist Patrick Courtin will pay tribute to the Hammond B3 organ greats of the past and present, from Jimmy Smith to Joey Defrancesco. Backed by veteran drummer James McRae, guitarist Matt Aasen and saxophonist Larry Miller, Courtin will explore and expand on jazz organ stylings over the decades. Admission $10. • April 13, Ladysmith Ambassador Program – Speech and Talent Night, Ladysmith Secondary School Community Room, 6:30 p.m. Nine candidates looking to represent Ladysmith as Ambassadors. First of the judged events. Hosted by Ladysmith’s outgoing Ambassadors. Tickets $10, available from any of the Ambassador candidates or by calling Sandy at 250-245-5750. Everyone welcome.

• April 14, Nancy’s Fashion Fundraiser for Ladysmith Little Theatre, 6 p.m. at Ladysmith Little Theartre. Your tickets also include an array of appetizers.  We will not only have a fabulous fashion show but 50/50 and live and silent auctions.  There will be a cash bar for wine and beer and tea/coffee.
