LETTER: Leadership in short supply in Ladysmith

‘Council hasn’t even discussed whether town employees should be vaccinated,’ says letter writer

Many commodities seem to be in short supply these days as a consequence of COVID-19. Unfortunately, leadership is one of them.

While federal & provincial employees, along with RCMP and BC Hydro workers all must be vaccinated to work, Ladysmith Council hasn’t even discussed whether town employees should be vaccinated for the safety of their fellow employees, or the public. As a taxpayer wanting to use the Frank Jameson Community Centre you must be vaccinated and show proof, however (ironically) you can be unvaccinated and work there.

As public servants in a public health crisis, all of us should be leading by example. Where is our leadership at the local level? In Ladysmith they are MIA.
