After the question is popped, many brides’ thoughts dash straight to the dress.For some, it is a moment they have waited for since childhood, for others it is a stressful ordeal of sizing, re-sizing and wading through styles, fashions and prices.Fern Descoteau, owner of Bride’s Closet in Nanaimo, has been in business for 15 years and has seen it all.Descoteau said colours have been all over the map this year, but has noticed certain styles heading out the door.“There’s actually been a bit more of a trend this year towards lace,” said Descoteau.“And they are usually in a slimmer silhouette.”In a completely opposite direction, gowns with a natural waist and ball gown skirt have also been hot sellers.And chiffons are always popular, she noted.— Matt Peterson
