The Town of Ladysmith has launched a new website, Let’s Talk Ladysmith, to encourage local participation. According to the website, the public engagement platform aims to be a place for people to “share ideas, discuss important topics, learn about current projects, provide feedback on policy, and contribute to the future of our community”.

The site will not only feature information on various town projects and initiatives but also offer opportunities for residents to participate in polls, surveys, interactive maps, Q&A sessions, forums and brainstorming activities. Feedback received on Let’s Talk Ladysmith will be forwarded to staff and council and will help inform future town decisions.

“We believe it’s important for all residents of Ladysmith to have the opportunity to share their feedback on town projects and initiatives that impact the community,” said Acting Mayor Tricia McKay. “Let’s Talk Ladysmith is an accessible and user-friendly public engagement tool that empowers residents to voice their opinions and be an active part of shaping the future of our town.”

Currently the site has one project posted with additional ones expected in the future. Information is now available on the Ladysmith Skatepark Revitalization project and residents are invited to weigh in on their priorities for this initiative via a short survey.

The site is now live at https://letstalk.ladysmith.ca/ where residents can register and join the conversation.
