Ladysmith RCMP is inviting residents to provide input on the detachment’s strategic priorities and crime reduction initiatives for the upcoming year.

Each year, the RCMP sets proactive policing initiatives aimed at improving community safety. While officers primarily respond to calls and conduct investigations, they also engage in crime prevention efforts such as traffic safety campaigns, outreach to vulnerable populations and community engagement through event attendance and foot patrols.

Responses will influence RCMP’s focus areas, ensuring efforts align with residents' concerns.

“Input from the community is really a key piece of feedback that we look for before setting new initiatives,” said Ladysmith detachment commander S/Sgt. Trevor Busch. “We want to make sure we're focusing our efforts in the right areas that matter to the community.”

Residents can share their priorities by completing a questionnaire available online from March 21 to April 11.
