A 35-year-old Duncan woman was rushed to hospital Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway.
The incident occured in the southbound lane in front of the Burger King at 6 p.m.
RCMP said the stretch of the highway is a 50 km/hr zone and the 63-year-old Port Alberni driver was unable to stop before hitting the pedestrian.
The motorist remained on scene as did numerous witnesses.
