Ladysmith RCMP are investigating a suspected arson after a tractor was found destroyed near McNab Corn Maze. Officers attended the scene on Feb. 25.

“Neighbours hear a loud explosion around 5:30 a.m., followed by what may have been a rifle shot a few seconds later,” said Cst. Dave Herman in a statement to the Chronicle.

Owner, Murray McNab, was on his way to repair the tractor after a breakdown on a gravel road about a week prior. The vehicle is valued at about $50,000 new.

RCMP is asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the fire to contact the local detachment at 250-245-2215.
