Week 3 games in the Cowichan Women's Football League were played under sunny skies, making for some great flag football.
On Friday night the Wild crossed paths with the Crew and it was a good showing with some end-to-end runs for both squads said league spokesperson Chris Mann. The Crew ended up winning 26-0.
Sunday, all the action took place at McAdam Park, and first up was the Crew, in their second game of the weekend, against the Ravens.
"It is always a classic match, and this was no exception," said Mann. "It was anyone's game right to the final whistle and it was only fitting for the game to end 7-7."
While the Crew and Ravens were going head to head, the other field had another big game as the Victoria Wolfpack matched wits with the Cougars.
"It was an all-out mauling by both teams," Mann said, with the Wolfpack winning 20-18.
In the afternoon games, the Storm blew into the park to confront the Wild in a game that would see lots of punts, big runs and some amazing throws. The final score gave the Storm the 34-7 win.
The last game of the day featured the Wolfpack and the Law, with the Law earning the 26-19 win.
"There were many standouts on the weekend," Mann noted. "Like Dani Robb for the Storm with three touchdowns; Maddi Klaassen for the Wild; Nikita Kitagawa for the Ravens; Trish Sales for the Wolfpack; and Jackie Harrison for the Crew, just to name a few."
