Nanaimo RCMP made an arrest in the case of the food-court purse snatcher.

A suspect stole a purse hanging on the back of a chair at Country Club Centre last month, and after RCMP released surveillance video footage, they received several tips about the identity of the alleged thief.

According to a police press release, a 37-year-old woman was arrested June 16 at her home, and will have a court appearance Sept. 13.

“One of her release conditions is that she is prohibited from going to the Country Club mall until such time the court proceedings have been dealt with,” the release noted.
