Ladysmith Secondary School was placed on a partial “hold and secure” from 7 am - 9:20 am this morning.
Early reports indicate parents were still dropping off kids while the hold and secure was in place. Parents were notified via email at 10 am.
“The school was responding to a potential threat that they were alerted to, so as a precaution they went in to hold and secure,” SD68 director of communications Dale Burgos said. “It was lifted after there was no credible threat found.”
RCMP in Ladysmith and Nanaimo were involved. SD68 could not confirm the cause of the hold and secure.
