BC Ambulance requested an airlift med-evac from Ladysmith’s Aggie Hall sports field at 9:30am Thursday morning.

Emergency services were on scene to prepare the landing site.

The airlifted patient is a young child. BC Emergency Health Services confirmed the child was transported to a hospital in Victoria. It was not a prehospital emergency call.

Lynette Thomas Frenchy, mother of the child, thanked the emergency service responders for their quick organization, and said she’s grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.

“We have no answers on what causes my son to be so critical, right now all we ask if for continued prayers. Our child is our pride and joy,” Frenchy said. “We know Ladysmith is a small community, but a caring community, and we thank everyone for the prayers they are sending, we need it.”
