It’s Family Literacy Day on Monday, Jan. 27, and the Ladysmith Library is celebrating with a morning of stories and crafts.

From 10:30 a.m. to noon, there will be story time and crafts at the Vancouver Island Regional Library  Ladysmith Branch at 3-740 First Ave. It’s a free event, and it’s open to all ages.

This year, the B.C. theme for Family Literacy Day is “15 Minutes of Fun.”

“What we’re promoting this year is activities families can do in 15 minutes to support learning and literacy,” said library manager Stephen Warren, who will be handing out activity booklets.
