A 33-year-old Chemainus driver was taken to Cowichan hospital with undetermined injuries after his vehicle was allegedly rear-ended Tuesday, causing his Toyota to flip, police say.

"At approximately 4:30 p.m.  on the Trans-Canada Highway and Smiley Road, the driver of a 1995 Toyota 4Runner, traveling north in the passing lane, reports his vehicle was rear ended," North Cowichan/Duncan Cpl. Krista Hobday's email says.

"This caused his vehicle to flip, and hit the median."

She had no information at press time about the second, rear-ending vehicle. The investigation continues.

Witnesses can call the RCMP with details at 250-748-5522.
