Chemainus residents might want to let the water run before dipping their toothbrush under the tap.
The Municipality of North Cowichan’s utilities department is undertaking routine watermain flushing in several areas of the Chemainus water system starting Thursday through to Dec. 22.
“During this time, there may be short periods of low pressure and discolouration of water,” according to a notice from the municipality. “Commercial establishments, such as laundromats and beauty salons, will receive advance warning of flushing in their area if requested.”
Municipal staff will try to minimize any inconvenience but North Cowichan is not responsible for any damage arising from the use of discoloured water.
