The first week of June marks the opening of the Chemainus Wednesday Market.
The Chemainus Wednesday Market will be reappearing in the parking lot at Waterwheel Park beginning June 6, and there will be several new vendors this year.
Along with returning favourites including I Be Jammin’, Blue Cow Beads, Well Bred, Holder Soaps and Providence Farm, the Chemainus Wednesday Market is welcoming chocolate truffles from Salt Spring Island and the unique crafts of Kathy Doyle and Maria Sargeant from Ladysmith and Nanaimo. As well, Penny Jones will be selling her delightful pottery.
If you are not already a Wednesday Market regular, consider adding it to your weekly routine, and drop in between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and see what’s available. You can pick up a quick snack or something to take home for dinner, find a unique hand-made gift for just about anyone on your list or just treat yourself.
Later in the summer, as the local farm produce reaches its peak, you will be able to find the freshest just-picked vegetables and fruit. Just be sure to not wait too long, as the last market day for 2012 will be Sept. 12.
