Fuller Lake Beach in Chemainus remains off limits due to a high bacterial count.
Island Health issued an advisory Friday about high bacterial counts, with swimming and wading in the water at the popular park not recommended.
Signs indicating a ‘Beach Advisory’ were posted on the site and the swimming area roped off.
The beach area would normally be bustling at this time of the season, with back to school only two weeks away and everyone trying to take advantage of a waning number of opportunities for summer fun, but all is quiet.
Island Health, with support from the Municipality of North Cowichan, will continue testing the location and update any changes.
The public can find more information about beach advisories, including frequently asked questions, on the municipality’s website, or by calling 250-737-2010.
