We all know Ladysmith is a great place, and now the rest of the country will know too.
The town of Ladysmith has been nominated as one of the Great Places in Canada.
Ladysmith has been nominated in the "neighbourhoods" category of the competition, which is sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Planners as a way to recognize the work of professional planners and to join with all Canadians in a celebration of the great places we are fortunate to share in this country.
The competition is open to all Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Voting takes place online, and the results are tallied in real time.
Voting ends Feb. 29. The judges — a panel of renowned planning experts — will decide on the semi-finalists in early April and announce the winners at the end of April.
