Rotary Club of Ladysmith has announced this year’s date for the 4th annual Lanterns of Hope for Polio fundraiser at Transfer Beach.
The family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Transfer Beach from 5-7 p.m.
Last year’s event was held on a Thursday and organizers had previously said they were looking at changing the date to a weekend to make it more accommodating to parents with school-aged children.
Lanterns can only fly from 6-7 p.m. as per NavCanada regulations. Lanterns can be purchased for $5.
Last year over 300 lanterns were launched into the night sky at the Transfer Beach Amphitheatre.
