The latest exposure occurred on the days of Feb. 23 to Feb. 25. School District 68 says that Island Health has completed contact tracing.

February saw nine days where there was an exposure event at LSS: Feb. 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25. This makes LSS the school with the most exposure days in the Island Health region currently.

School District officials have said that exposure events reflect the state of COVID-19 transmission in the broader community, and that the term ‘exposure’ does not mean that transmission occured in the school setting.

The term ‘cluster’ refers to two or more cases within a 14-day period, with evidence of transmission occuring within the school. ‘Outbreak’ refers to multiple confirmed cases within a 14-day period, with evidence of ongoing transmission occurring within the school and the school medical health officer has determined exceptional measures are required to prevent further transmission of COVID-19.

At this time, LSS has only experienced COVID-19 exposures.
