Ladysmith Family and Friends just got a huge helping hand for its efforts in giving kids a helping hand.
The local support and learning centre for preschool-age children received an $11,000 grant this week from the Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island.
It was part of $2,255,000 the foundation gave to Vancouver Island programs that support children and youth with disabilities and health challenges.
