A multi-faceted campaign is getting underway to bring more awareness to local residents about the shopping and services in their own backyard as well as a chance to emphasize their pride and love for Chemainus.

The Chemainus Business Improvement Association aims to showcase everything there is to offer within the community.

It’s a three-pronged approach encompassing Chemainus visibility, getting people to know services and shopping, and town pride.

“They all kind of work together,” said CBIA’s marketing and events manager Krystal Adams.

“It’s all about people getting to know their town and having that town pride for it.”

The downtown, uptown, mid-town and old town components will all be brought together through the series of promotions and incentives.

It’s a bit different than a Shop Local campaign, with a longer-term focus.

“It’s get to know these businesses, the people who run these businesses,” noted Adams. “It’s important to showcase the variety. We have so much in these stores and so many services.”

All the various details of interest to shoppers and residents will be revealed in the weeks ahead.
