It's time to recognize Ladysmith's hard-working volunteers.
In August, a dedicated community member will be named Ladysmith's 2012 Citizen of the Year. The award is presented for outstanding community service over a period of time. The service must be voluntary, and it does not include service for which there has been remuneration or where it has been in connection with normal employment.
The nominations are open to all residents of Ladysmith, but they must conform to the guidelines put forth by the Ladysmith Celebrations Society. The nominations received will be judged by a panel selected from the Ladysmith Celebrations Society committee,
Nomination are due this Thursday (July 26).
The winner will be announced Aug. 11 during the Rotary Pancake Breakfast at Ladysmith Days.
